The Mana Pocket Review: Gamers Vs Gaming

Hey Fans of Magic: The Gathering, we have a new comer to the information gaming stream, a podcast known as Games Vs Gaming. This is a podcast that is run by two extremely advance players, ControlFreak1992 and Poompi (as they call themselves), of which combined they hold tons of knowledge about upcoming series, new and old school MTG cards and insightful tips and tricks to improve on any deck.

Tonight’s podcast was mainly dedicated to the new set that will soon be coming out, preleased, on Saturday, March 21st, 2015, Dragons of Tarkir. Games Vs Gaming informed players about this much anticipated new set included new spoilers, the pros and cons, and their insights on how to play and build around certain cards, including making them a key addition to any existing deck.

Games Vs Gaming, then took this podcast into a new direction giving us a glimpse in to the world of the GrandPrix that was held in Miami on March 6th thur March 8th, 2015, breaking down the top decks and informing us about the main players. They even gave us fun facts such as all the venders at the GP were sold out of the exceedingly wanted card, Master of the Unseen, by day one of the event. (Wow that’s fast but what can you except from such a powerful card, it can’t be that surprising.) Games Vs Gaming stated that the final standard match was held between two green/white devotion decks, which ended with a total life count of over 900 combined between both players. (Just kill me already, Can’t)

Overall, my thoughts of Games Vs. Gaming was unexpected. I was surprise to learn so much in so little time. In just over an hour, I was given a weeks’ worth of information and knowledge. As for being the 6th episode, ControlFreak1992 and Poompi had great chemistry as co-workers, knowing when to take their ques of talking and relay facts. However, I did not get the feeling that outside of the podcast they truly interacted much personally. As a first time viewer, I connected with each of them as a competitor and player. Their information was precise, clean and easy to understand. I truly enjoyed this podcast and look forward to viewing Gamers Vs Gaming again soon.
